Dear people all around the world,
As a founder in Ailink, I would like to share my own story with you!
Is equality important? It is of course very important to all of us. Without equality, bias can exist and misunderstanding will happen. However, how to promote equality is very important. I was once a sophomore student and went off campus to find roommates. However, many students don’t want to rent a house with me. Why? As an Asian, I was sometimes stereotyped as “Nerd”. Students said they would rather rent a room with someone they can have fun with.
However, how would I promote equality? I have long thought about this. I think one of the problems is the difference between our living style. I prefer to study, not because I am an Asian, but in fact, I prefer to study as an individual. There must be people from different backgrounds who also prefer to study as an individual. On the other hand, there should also be students from Asia who prefer other lifestyles. What we should do is to respect people and their different lifestyles. Our world became more colorful thanks to such differences in each individual.
So, We, the Ailink team, have the mission to create such an equal community where such misunderstanding between renters and landlords – social injustice can be reduced. We have a great vision that people with all backgrounds can find a room and roommate here in Ailink. We will lead an activity where people can respect each others’ lifestyle and equality will be achieved.
Thus, We would like to ask you to help us reach out to more friends so that we can together create a community where students can find their preferred rooms and roommates with equal opportunity.
